Radisson Blu Hotel Glasgow - Photo Shoot

The Radisson Blu Hotel in Glasgow was taken over slightly that day by Group of photographers and teams along with their models. We had the use of different rooms and area’s at different times throughout the day and evening, so we organised the outfits for each venue and got the style of makeup and hair ready to achieve on the models as we finished each shoot ready for the next.

Back working with photographer George M Monaghan of Monapic.com, he works with Glamour Model portfolios, commercial imaging, product photography, family portraits, corporate and commercial photography undertaken. It’s been a real privilege to assist on photo shoots with George as he gets that the whole set up of how creating an image can take time and allots plenty of time for hair and makeup and also sees the benefits of having both Hair and Makeup artist to assist so we can create and give the models a fantastic image. Everyone I have worked with on George’s shoot has a real respect for him he is real team player and true professional and one the of the old school gentlemen you don’t get many of them about anymore.

George already had another makeup artist booked but was too busy for a full day shoot so at the last minute Nazia Ali stepped in, a big ask for any girl on a Saturday night to do a full days shoot next day in Glasgow City Centre at 8:30am start not the easiest thing to do on a Sunday morning. We all got there bright and early; well the early bit anyway, wasn’t too bright as the rain was belting it down as they say in Glasgow.

We couldn’t have got a better stand in than Make-up Artist Nazia Ali, she was up for a hard day’s work and that’s what she gave. I already had a list of styles that would work for the models and what they were wearing, but Nazi had five minutes to decide what would suit the hair, clothes and models quickly and then get both models finished in our allotted time.

As well as back working with George I was delighted to be working again with model Alexandra Proir, she not only beautiful girl but she has the most amazing hair, which is always a delight to work with, long lush locks. It's great working with models again as I get to know their hair and have a greater knowledge of what hair styles will suit  which saves time and I can achieve better and different styles in the time slot given for the shoots. Alexander always gives you strong images so I always try and give her different looks to what she has already done, when models have long curly hair a lot of times it just get left the same way but  for portfolios you want a lot of different images, I hope achieved that with every model I work with. From one look you can have so many different looking images if have a great model, so lucky me having two and both with very different looks which makes It better for me as I get such different looks from this day, here you can see some of the images from the Glamour fashion shoots in the stylish bars in Glasgow’s Radisson Blu.

The high Audrey Hepburn bun with the sleek fringe sweep is a timeless classic and with Nikola’s figure hugging dress gives this classic a modern feel.

I smoothed Alexandra hair and curled set the bottom of her hair and brushed through and gently swept to the side, this is a great look for any dinner dance evening, sitting pretty with your curls sweeping over your shoulder or tumbling behind you while dancing the night away. Another Classic hair style great for any age, all you need is the long locks.

Another look for night out in town

Keeping the hair smooth, giving some height at the crown and smoothing down the fringe area, then sweeping to the side gives a young modern feel, great for any night out.

 

Similar style some height at the crown and then pulling back into a ponytails and leaving the long fringe to hang over the face. Another quick simple style for any night out.

The stylish Radisson Blu Hotel in the Centre of Glasgow makes a chic modern setting, to show of some hairstyles that would suit any night out in the town. 

This was my first time working with model Nikola Bonova, a fitness instructor, she has an amazing body and a great features to showcase a few styles I hadn’t seen in her portfolio, Nikola enjoyed all the new looks for her and was amazed her long layered hair went into some of the styles I had chosen for her, it’s always nice to know your models are enjoying your styles.

Moving on to a different styling and setting using the hotels contemporary suites  we created a tasteful sensual  boutique shoot, I mixed the hairstyles from classic to cheeky for these shoots suiting the styles and shot. 

A sculpted high bun with tumbling curly tresses falling onto the face and shoulders giving a soft princess feel.

Back combed for height and smooth quiff gives it the polished look

This is my favourite photo of Alexandra of the days shoot

For Nicokla a front quiff bringing all the sides up to meet keep with the classic vintage glamour, with hair smooth and sleek and pulled to the side.

Bringing that vintage glamour bang up to date by adding a low slung ponytail

Taking Nicokla away from the glam look I gave her cheeky ponytails, but she still looks totally glam.

Another great day’s work with some brilliant images and got to meet lots of other professionals on the shoot it’s always good to get to see what everyone else is doing and getting feedback from your designs, looking forward to the next photo-shoot already .
